Gum Arabic

Sudan accounts for approximately 70–80% of global Gum Arabic production, and Acacia senegal — locally called Hashab — produces the premium food-grade gum that is traded internationally as the reference standard for E414 and JECFA-compliant supply. Gum Arabic is a complex polysaccharide exudate tapped from the branches of Acacia senegal trees in the dry savanna belt stretching across North, South, and West Kordofan into Darfur. It is used across the food and beverage industry as an emulsifier, stabiliser, film-forming agent, and texture modifier — and in pharmaceutical, cosmetic, lithographic, and inkjet printing applications. The quality distinction that buyers must understand: Acacia senegal (Hashab, E414 high grade) and Acacia seyal (Talha) are two different species producing chemically distinct gums. Hashab produces a lower-viscosity, higher-nitrogen gum with superior emulsification properties and a cleaner flavour profile. Seyal produces a darker, more viscous gum with lower emulsification capacity. We supply exclusively Acacia senegal (Hashab). Buyers requiring Talha or blends should specify at enquiry stage. We supply in three processing forms: hand-sorted whole lumps (HPS), mechanically kibbled (broken and sieved), and spray-dried instantised powder. Each form is suitable for different end-use applications.
